Identifying a molecule in space: what does it mean?

Where to search: Interstellar clouds, Extra-solar galaxies, Solar system, Planets, comets, meteorites?

When to search: Anytime … except comets?

What to search: Proteins, sugars, DNA, (parents and daughter molecules)?

Can a different form of life be imagined starting from what we know today?

These questions will be addressed and illustrated by examples of yesterday, today and tomorrow astrochemical problems relevant to interstellar medium, planets and satellites of our solar system, and small bodies as comets.
The examples will cover amides, aminoacids, sugars, phosphorous compounds and the still unexplained origin of chirality.
