Main topics of the lecture:
Simple molecular models of Broensted Acid Sites (BAS) in zeolites,
dependence of their acidic power and vibrational characteristics
on the chemical and structural factors, the probable role of BAS's
in the formation of electron deficient state of small Pt and Pd
metal particles in zeolites.
Simple molecular models of Lewis Acid Sites on alumina and on
extra-framework oxide-hydroxide species in zeolites, the probable
role of the latter as catalytic active sites in the decomposition
of nitrous oxide and stabilization of alpha-oxygen.
Discussion of the different possible structures of Fe-ion containing
species which could be active in nitrous oxide decomposition and in the
formation of alpha-oxygen.
Theoretical study of comparatve stability of different Zn-ion
species in zeolite matrix and their activity in interaction with alkanes.
